Identifiers

Each active ingredient record includes a CAS Registry Number, a globally unique chemical identifier assigned by the Chemical Abstracts Service. Records also carry a persistent UUID for programmatic reference.

Methodology

EIQ values are calculated using the formula described in:

Kovach, J., Petzoldt, C., Degni, J., and Tette, J. 1992. A method to measure the environmental impact of pesticides. New York's Food and Life Sciences Bulletin 139:1-8.

The Field Use EIQ calculator standardizes results to lbs/acre using unit conversion factors based on the specific density of water for liquid formulations.
